ShortHit: Mouth Hit vs Lung Hit

This will be a short one. This is more about introducing a new concept that all you new vapers can get on board. This is mainly for the show off types, including myself, who want to put out some really big clouds.

Mouth Hit

A mouth hit is inhaling into your mouth and then breathing into your lungs. The universal way, how original smokers did it. They had to do it this way due to filter needing air pressure to push the smoke through filter and into your mouth. Simple.

Lung Hit

Now that you are a vaper, there's another way to inhale. I HIGHLY recommend you do this method with low nicotine content or none at all as this way is very taxing on the throat.

Instead of inhaling into your mouth, just suck the vapour clouds into your lungs. Best way to explain this is simply breathing in through the mouth whilst you vape.

You'll notice how much more vapor you can put into your body and if the juice is specialised for big clouds, you can pretty much paint the ceiling in them.

REMEMBER, LOW NICTOINE CONTENT ONLY! HIGH NICOTINE CONTENT WILL KNOCK YOU OVER!

Here's a Youtube video of a guy who explored this directly. Click here.

Which one? Disposables, Refillable or Variable Voltage?

The blog title alone will turn away most beginners in the electronic cigarette world but don't fret, that's why I'm here, to tell you the difference and put your mind at ease so your money is not wasted on the wrong product.

Now, Disposables, Reffilables and Variable Voltage types all do one thing. They give you a synthetic smoke which emulates normal cigarettes. However, the reason there is 3 types means one is better than the other, right? Of course! There will always be that one better product out there but that's not to say that one isn't for you.

So let's discuss what each are and if they'll benefit you.

Disposables

You will have heard a lot about these in the news. They're created to look similar to a normal cigarette in structure and size. You'll see them in corner shops, supermarkets, pretty much everywhere you normally go when you're not looking for them.

These are very looked down upon to an educated vaper but cast away their growling eyes, we're here for you and your tastes. I consider these to be a good starting point for someone who wants to ween themselves off normal cigarettes. They look similar and they last longer than a pack of 20. Already a good starting point when the lowest denominator already casts a shadow on its tar ridden cousin.

Most varieties of these come with different strengths of nicotine, the prime ingredient. Sure, you can get better but there's no shame in starting with these and having a little taste of the electronic cigarette world.

Of course, I don't recommend you stick with these in there entirety, they're mass produced and there's better, and cheaper, alternatives with these costing an average of £10 to £15 in the UK, with the cartridges, the things that look like filters at the end, costing around half of that. Still, if you want to be discrete, they're quite handy for their small size.

Refillables

Now these are the staple of the current electronic cigarette world, you will probably switch to these when you feel you've had your fill of a disposable.

Now you have to be really careful when purchasing a refillable, there's a lot of bad choices to be made. But again, that's why I'm here.

It's seen some use. My first refillable.
Read more for the exact build shown here.

What you see above is a refillable. Don't worry, yours will be nice and shiny when you buy it new. The image represents what a basic refillable may look like. Most likely then not, a lot of people get plastic tops, the cartomizer, and the battery at the bottom. (Greens because I like green, no other reason!). They do their job and you'll notice the difference between the disposable and your new refillable.

Now you can buy your own juice. E-cig juice is turned into vapour when you press the button on the front. They come in tons of flavours and some you'll have to put some effort into finding! There's many great online shops as well but give your local e-cig shop a look and try out some of the basic flavours first. They come in different nicotine strengths, the higher the strength, the heavier the hit is in terms of how it hits your throat and the rush you get. I'll list some of mine below.

Yes, you are indeed reading that right.
That is, indeed, Rhubarb and Custard.

However, with the plastic tops, they don't tell you the problems with them. After a week, you'll notice that your juice is starting to taste burnt. It's due to them being cheaply made. This is where we introduce our saving grace. What you should buy instead.

The Kanger Mini-Protank 3

As you can see in the picture, this cartomizer is made of metal and glass. This translates into: They last longer. You'll find these babies enjoyable, you'll be able to inhale even better and you'll be able to taste your juice more, even puff out a some bigger clouds!

They're similar to the plastic ones in build but with these, they introduce the concept of "coils". Coils are the little part of the cartomizer which turns your juice into vapour. Whilst the mini will last longer, they still have an age on them. Lucky for you, you can purchase a lot of coils for quite cheap, enhancing the life of your cartomizer. Even better, if you wish to change to another Kanger cartomizer, they tell you what they're compatible with in others. As seen below.

Wasn't that very nice of Kanger.

Now onto the battery. At this stage, a simple ego battery will be fine. Now, you'll see the word "ego" bouncing around the e-cig community and I'll tell you what it means. It's anything that can fit on the cylinder batteries. My green battery is an ego battery. The Mini Protank 3 fits egos. See where I'm going?

Talking of batteries, let's move on to the next type.

Variable Voltage

Scary word, aint it. Nah, it's quite simple. Variable voltage directly means the battery. See, when you press on your e-cig battery, it's using a set voltage. The higher the voltage, the better you get. Great concept, I know.

With these, you have the power to change how hard your battery acts. They come in different ways. I'll show you mine.

Ignore the googly eye modification, it doesn't
improve performance, I swear.

The one on the right is from Kanger, believe it or not! It's called a Kangertech Evod VV. It's longer than the little green one BUT if you look at the bottom of it in my badly and swiftly taken picture, you'll see a dial you can twirl around. That's how you change its voltage! Simple stuff!

Now the big one is commonly referred to as an MVP 2.0 and it's the holy grail of e-cig batteries. Same thing but a little more advanced and powerful. I'll be creating a post about it soon, don't worry!

These babies are usually better paired off with better cartomisers, naturally. The one on my MVP will also get a post. Trust me, they require the attention.

I'd advise to get in some experience with refillables before you move onto these, try and become used to a normal battery. With a bit more experience and long use of a normal battery, you'll appreciate these better and have some understanding of there workings as voltage and wattage are finicky things if you don't know what you're doing. Again, expect a post!

Note: I'm not biased to Kanger, they've just never disappointed me with their products. Feel free to do your own research on brands if you wish to try others but this is my own personal taste.

Introduction: Vape To 100

Good day, fellow vapours.

This blog serves to act as a gateway for new vapours to get better acquainted with the vaping world of today and to do that within 100 posts. There are tons and tons of new equipment that has been released and it can get very confusing for a person who wishes to venture into the world of Electronic Cigarettes.
